Summer Trips

The Guild plans a yearly family-friendly outing to an interesting, educational site like a museum, tool or furniture maker, or boatyard. Bring the kids and join us for our next summer trip!

Sunapee Booth

Each year, the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers hosts a large booth at the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair at Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, NH. The fair begins on the first Saturday in August and lasts nine days. It requires about 60 volunteers to set up, staff, and break down our booth and we start looking for volunteers in early March.

If you’ve never visited, here’s how the fair works: The League gives us a prime tent near the entrance, where we display raffle prizes–handcrafted and donated by Guild members–to support our Grant Program. Volunteers sell tickets, answer questions about the Guild from visitors, and explain how to join or renew.

We also showcase a variety of woodworking skills like carving, furniture and instrument making, and woodturning–with two or more lathes in action, demonstrating project work, turning tops for the kids, and just having a good time making chips fly. Check out our TouchUps newsletter to get on the volunteer list!
