Sharpening Gouges for carvers

Mike DiMaggio will demonstrate techniques of sharpening gouges and knives for carvers. Woodworkers usually work with flat tools, but carving tools come in all shapes and curves that can be challenging to sharpen.  Mike will show techniques to help improve our sharpening skills and ease our frustrations of dealing with dull tools!

Bring any sharpening equipment that you may have, diamond stones, water, oil, slip stones. Mike will also provide strops  for putting on those finished touches!  The class will be held in our room at Shaker Village on Sunday May 17 from 10am-1pm, but feel free to stay longer to sharpen more or carve! Class will be limited to 20 people.
