Guided Tour of NH Furniture Masters 30th Anniversary Exhibit at the Currier Museum

ANNOUNCEMENT: Guided Tour of Joined Together: 30 Years of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters
Join the New Hampshire Furniture Masters for a special guided tour of their milestone 30th Anniversary exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art!
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to see an exceptional collection of fine, contemporary furniture from some of the world’s top makers, with much of the work on public view for the very first time.
The exhibition, Joined Together: 30 Years of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters, celebrates three decades of preserving and advancing the art of fine furniture making in New England.
Highlights of the tour include:
- Bill Thomas’s Monumental Desk: Witness the culmination of at least ten years of dedication as Furniture Master Bill Thomas walks us through his intricate and simply amazing piece of craftsmanship—a desk inspired by the mechanical marvels of historical masters. This truly magnificent work of art entertains as much as it delights the eyes.
- Brad Wolcott’s Coastal Chest: Be sure to see Brad Wolcott’s chest, which features unique bronze doors cast from the rippling tide on a beach on the Cape.
- A Permanent Collection Masterpiece: If you have never seen David Lamb’s New Hampshire Secretary, which is part of the Currier Museum’s permanent collection, you will not want to miss this opportunity. Lamb’s 2020 piece, which stands over eight feet tall, is a stunning example of New England craftsmanship, recognized with the Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge Grand Prize.
- A Peek Inside: If we are lucky, a museum curator will be present, allowing us to see inside open doors and drawers of these incredible creations!
This is only one of the many great works on display! You won’t get a chance to see this many masterpieces of the Studio Furniture movement in one place again.
