From high-profile international restoration to grassroots \ncommunity building\, DuBois will explore the evolving role of timber framing and traditional \njoinery in cultural heritage conservation. The talk will highlight how traditional timber \ntechniques meet modern preservation needs and how the Guild continues to train\, educate\, and \ninspire the next generation of craft practitioners. \nJackson DuBois: \nJackson DuBois has worked as a timber framer for 20 years on a diverse variety of projects both \ndomestically and abroad for individuals\, companies\, institutions\, museums\, NGO’s and not for \nprofits. His experience ranges from historic reproductions\, hand hewn and cut with hand tools\, to \nmodern custom heavy timber construction. As a Journeyed Timber Framer with the Timber Framers \nGuild\, Jackson is well versed in all aspects of timber construction. \nIn 2014 he founded DuBois Timber Frames LLC\, specializing in historic building restoration\, \npreservation\, and adaptive reuse. The firm also designs\, plans\, and provides construction of quality \ntimber frame structures for diverse clientele in the United States and abroad. \nJackson has served in various capacities with the Timber Framers Guild of Alstead\, New Hampshire\, \nincluding the Board of Directors\, Clerk and President of the Guild\, and currently as the Executive \nDirector of the Timber Framers Guild since 2023. Jackson recently spent time in France working with \nthe company Asselin in their Thouars\, France workshop from May – July of 2023 taking part in the \nreconstruction of the Spire (La Flèche) of Notre Dame de Paris.
