SUMMARY:David Belser is holding an open studio
DESCRIPTION:Access is one flight down stairs or a reasonably steep incline around the side of the house. \nI have been pursuing machining and metal work on a small scale for several years\, building out equipment and learning along the way. Specifically focusing on CAD\, CNC and design\, the goal is to return to an artists life designing and making mechanicals and curiosities that engage the and tickle the mind. \nCurrently well into making the first mechanical sculpture and almost 2 years into learning how to use a new (home basement scale) CNC machine.  \nI am opening my shop for weekly open studio sessions for 4 weeks on Wednesday evening. I am working (almost) daily on my first mechanical\, so there will be plenty of work in progress\, problems solved and many things that remain to be determined to talk about and show. I’m also glad to talk about the experience of diving into purchasing\, assembling\, leaning and using a professional level CNC machine – with little more than a concept of what I was getting into. \nTopics may include (but are not limited to- I’m happy to talk about any thing I know about or have learned and experiences I’ve had) \n\n\n\nMachine Choice \nBroken End Mills \nLearning CAD \nGeneral Machine Operation \nDesign \nGear Cutting \nRotary Axis CNC \nSmall parts and end mills \nAnd whatever else comes up. \nI hope you will join me.
