Cleaning Circular Saw Blades

How do I clean circular saw blades?—Anonymous?

Bill Taylor replies: My saw blades get gunked up with wood resins literally burned into the back of the tooth. This can be brushed off with a brass bristle brush. This build up slows cutting and simulates a dull edge. Take five minutes and some elbow grease. This is not a 100% cure-all but worth the effort. This also happens in the gullet of the teeth on high count tooth bandsaw blades. I point out high count blades because that is where it is the most problematic for me. Again, the brass bristle brush and elbow grease.
