SUMMARY:GSWT Wig Stand & Sharpening Working session
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of learning and working on wig stands and tool sharpening. GSWT has donated over a hundred wig stands free of charge to cancer patients who are in need of one. \nThis worthy initiative has made a positive impact on many lives and we need more wig stands to continue the effort. \nThis working session is for emerging wood turners to learn general turning principles required to make wig stands and more experienced wood turners to lend a hand along with mentoring opportunities. \nLathes\, tools\, wood and mentoring will be provided at the event. If you have your own tools please feel free to bring them along\, we’ll have sharpening stations available for folks who want to work on their sharpening skills. \nBring a brown bag lunch and plan on a fun day.

SUMMARY:Annual Turners Meeting
DESCRIPTION:You are the Program!\nFirst\, a brief business meeting to elect officers for the coming year. Nominees are: \n\nPresident\, Bill Emerson\nVice President\, Don Lowe\nSecretary\, David Picard\nTreasurer\, Josh Rasch\n\nSecond\, Show and Tell. Bring your recent work and show us what you’ve been doing. All skill levels are welcome\, it’s not a contest. If you’ve had an adventure or made a mistake\, bring that too. We all learn from mistakes. \nThird\, bring a special or unique turning tool\, especially home made. We can all benefit from your clever ideas or save money by copying your builds. Each of us have different ways to get the job done\, and have made or acquired tools and gadgets to make it happen. We have also built or bought items that are a waste of money and learning from that could save others money. We will include ample time for questions\, answers\, and sharing of wood turning knowledge. \nFinally\, we will be meeting in the Guild’s designated space in the barn adjacent to the visitor parking lot. Signs will be posted. The space may not be heated so dress according to weather conditions. Please bring a chair or stool to sit in\, avoiding really bulky chairs. Coffee and donuts will be available.
