The presentation offers one perspective on how traditional craft can create new points of entry into woodworking for makers and communities alike.\n\nAs the son of a woodworker\, Brennan’s earliest memories are in the shop\, standing at his father’s workbench. That childhood spark grew into a lifelong calling. Today\, he is the owner of Simpson Fine Furniture\, a custom studio in New Hampshire\, where he designs and builds heirloom-quality pieces tailored to each client’s vision.\nHis work combines time-honored joinery with modern sensibilities\, relying on traditional tools and techniques to achieve precision\, integrity\, and beauty. Brennan believes in the power of skill over machinery—that with a small set of tools and a deep understanding of the craft\, a person can build anything. \nBeyond the bench\, Brennan is an educator and advocate for making woodworking more accessible. He teaches with an emphasis on hand tools\, helping students bypass the financial and spatial barriers of industrial equipment. His passion lies in passing down not just the skills\, but the values of the craft: patience\, humility\, and excellence. \nBrennan’s work has been featured in Fine Woodworking magazine\, and he has shared his expertise as an instructor at the Chicago School of Woodworking and The North Bennet Street School\, where he also completed the Cabinet and Furniture Making program. He has lectured on French marquetry and studied under master artisan Patrick Edwards at the American School of French Marquetry. He is a former member of the Charlestown Furniture Makers. \nBefore dedicating himself full-time to woodworking\, Brennan served eight years in the U.S. Army as a member of the Military Police.
