| Delta Milwaukee Rockwell Lathe Compound XY Cross Slide
This XY cross slide was originally sold as an accessory for the Delta Milwaukee Rockwell wood lathes (a common vintage 12 x 48 lathe). It is in good working order, paint and handle finish is a little rough. Included is the original adaptor plate for the Delta wood lathe and new modified “lantern” style tool holder that fits the compound slide. I’m selling it because I have not used it since purchasing a metalworking machine lathe. Adjustable to other angles than 90 degrees. I personally used it to machine wooden parts on my Nova DVR lathe with a shop build riser block to accommodate the larger swing. It is great for turning accurate tapers and precisely fitting box lids. If your lathe can run at lower speeds with enough torque, this cross slide can be used for basic metal turning, particularly for non-ferrous metals. Do a web search for “Delta compound XY cross slide” there is a wealth of information about this accessory. This one is complete (they are often missing handles) and in full working condition. These sell for as much as $600 in new/fully refurbished condition and this one could be brought back to that condition if that’s your thing. Asking $250 |
